Before Auctions
Slaves who were freshly brought were sold to auctioneer, were led to pens near the malls where the auctions took place. They scrubbed and oiled the slaves to hide their wounds. The auctioneers also were fed and were given a lot of water before auctions to look healthier. This was the time most of the families were teared apart. The crowds of slaves were pushed into the pens. Some pens were kept next to or near the malls, or they were put in rented basements near the mall.

Slaves were sold here and there in and out of Africa. Some slaves sold themselves and even were originally salves but were soldd by their master. Forgein visitors were even scared of the pens that had "animal like" humans in them being tortured. Some buyers even walk through the pens to get a good look at what the buyers are here for.
